Product description
This vibrant red wine originates from the United States, carrying the Eola-Amity Hills AVA designation within Oregon's celebrated Willamette Valley. Lingua Franca was co-founded in 2015 by master sommelier Larry Stone and iconic Burgundian winemaker Dominique Lafon, driven by a desire to explore the region's unique terroirs. The estate is guided by a winemaking philosophy focused on organic and regenerative farming practices, utilizing a gravity-flow winery overseen by winemaker Thomas Savre to capture optimal freshness, tension, and complexity.
Wine Description
Tongue 'n Cheek Pinot Noir presents a dark ruby colour with faint purple reflections in the glass. The nose is highly complex and delicate, unfolding heady, expressive aromas of wild mountain berries, dark black cherries, and dried pomegranates mingled with fragrant violet petals, graphite, and savory spices like anise, clove, and cinnamon. On the palate, this medium-bodied wine feels sleek, silky, and beautifully poised. It delivers an intense, focused core of blueberry and red raspberry fruit neatly framed by a simmering backbone of mineral-tinged acidity and fine, well-integrated tannins. Subtle undercurrents of smoky black tea, forest floor, and potpourri add marvelous savory depth to its supple texture.
