The Loch Lomond Twelve Aged Years is a premium single malt Scotch whisky originating from Alexandria, in the Dunbartonshire region of the Scottish Highlands. The spirit is crafted at the Loch Lomond Distillery, an exceptionally versatile facility founded in 1965 by the Littlemill Distillery Company. Now managed by the Loch Lomond Group, the site stands as one of the most innovative distilleries in Scotland, famously operating a combination of traditional swan neck pot stills alongside unique, straight neck pot stills that feature internal distillation trays.

Spirit Description

Loch Lomond 12 Year Old is created by marrying distinct unpeated and peated distillates pulled from both the straight neck and swan neck still configurations. To build its signature character, Master Blender Michael Henry utilizes a three cask maturation framework, aging the liquid for over a decade in a combination of first fill bourbon barrels, refill casks, and re-charred American oak barrels.

• Colour: Deep gold with warm amber glints.

• Aroma: Crisp and sweet. The nose opens with an aromatic burst of orchard fruits, fresh green apple, and ripe pear, before shifting into lemon meringue, buckwheat honey, and golden grains, with a subtle background hint of wood smoke.

• Palate: Creamy and luscious on the entry. It delivers structured layers of ripe peach, baked apples, and vanilla fudge, intricately woven with light biscuit sweetness, brown sugar, nutmeg, and a greener, approachable touch of soft peat smoke.

• Body: Medium-bodied with a pleasantly rich, oily texture that fully coats the mouth.

• Finish: Medium in length and dry, closing with a distinct tingle of wood spice, cinnamon, warming oak, and a lingering tang of gentle peat embers.

• ABV: Bottled at 46% and kept non-chill filtered.
