Product description

This mezcal originates from Mexico, produced in the region of Oaxaca. The brand Los Siete Misterios was founded in 2010 by brothers Eduardo and Julio Reséndiz to celebrate traditional Mexican mezcal heritage. This ensamble expression is crafted in San Dionisio Ocotepec by blending cultivated Espadín agave with wild Cuishe agave, a tall tree like variety from the Agave karwinskii species. The agaves are slow roasted in underground earth ovens with wood and river stones, crushed using a traditional tahona mill, fermented in wooden tanks, and double distilled in copper pot stills.

Spirit Description

This unaged spirit displays a clear, luminous appearance in the glass. The aroma is complex and expressive, opening with notes of smoked cooked agave, sweet herbs, and subtle brine, layered with dry earth, wild greenery, and citrus peel. On the palate, it delivers a rich, smooth mouthfeel with excellent harmony between the two agaves. Sweet, smoky Espadín notes mingle with the savoury, mineral, and woody herbal character of the Cuishe, supported by underlying flavours of citrus zest and black pepper spice. The finish is long, warm, and evolving, leaving a lingering impression of sweet cooked agave, delicate smoke, and earth.
