Deep purple in hue. Ripe and powerful aromas of blackberry and black cherry are cut through by flourishes of black liquorice, smoke, spiced cake, cocoa, and espresso. Broad in mouthfeel but precise in structure, the fine tannins balance the rich fruit in a way that is dangerously easy to drink. Loaded with a complex array of blackberry, mulberry, lavender, cracked pepper, tilled earth, and exotic spicy flavours, it displays a richness akin to the Southern Rhône, a muscularity and spice reminiscent of Northern Rhône, and a precise structure that tells the story of La Livinière.
