Product description

Originating from France in the famous Burgundy region, specifically within the Aloxe Corton Premier Cru appellation of the Cote de Beaune, Louis Latour Aloxe Corton Premier Cru Les Chaillots 2022 represents a classic, terroir-driven expression of Pinot Noir winemaking. Founded in 1797, Maison Louis Latour is one of Burgundy's most revered and historic merchant houses, family-owned for over two centuries. Situated at the base of the Corton hill, the Premier Cru Les Chaillots vineyard takes its name from its stony, pebble-rich limestone soils. Sourced from estate-owned vines averaging over 35 years of age, the winemaking philosophy relies on traditional open-top vat fermentations, partial oak aging in custom copper-crafted French oak barrels from the house's own cooperage, and minimal handling to showcase site-specific elegance.

Wine Description

The wine presents a luminous, deep garnet red colour with bright ruby highlights along the rim. An expressive and refined bouquet opens with aromas of ripe dark cherry, wild raspberry, and red currant, interwoven with sophisticated notes of forest floor, subtle clove, pipe tobacco, dried rose petal, and crushed limestone minerality. On the palate, it is medium to full bodied, structured, and vibrant, delivering concentrated flavours of black cherry, red plum, and subtle sweet spice, all supported by a spine of lively, mouthwatering natural acidity. Framed by Les Chaillots' signature fine-grained, firm tannins and a savory, earthy backbone, it concludes with a long, persistent, and elegant finish. Composed of 100% Pinot Noir, this release offers an optimal drinking window of 2026–2040. Stylistically, it combines Cote de Beaune floral finesse with the dark-fruited density and structural power typical of Corton's limestone slopes.
