Product description
In the glass, the 2023 vintage presents a pale gold-yellow color with luminous straw reflections. The nose opens with an inviting and aromatic bouquet of crisp yellow apple, white peach, and citrus blossom, interwoven with subtle hints of fresh hazelnut, brioche, and crushed limestone minerality. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, rounded, and elegant, striking a harmonious balance between soft fruit weight and crisp natural acidity. Flavors of ripe pear, lemon curd, and a delicate touch of buttery oak carry through to a clean, mouthwatering, and mineral-tinged finish. Crafted from 100% Chardonnay (from vines averaging 30 years of age), the hand-harvested grapes undergo traditional fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed by partial malolactic fermentation and maturation in stainless steel and a small percentage of medium-toasted French oak barrels to preserve pristine fruit character. The alcohol by volume sits at 13.0%.
Vintage Quality
The 2023 growing season across the Côte d'Or produced white Burgundies defined by generous fruit expression, excellent aromatic balance, and smooth textural integration. Warm summer conditions enabled complete, uniform ripening while cool night breezes off the limestone slopes allowed Chardonnay to preserve its lively acidity and precise structure. The 2023 Louis Latour Marsannay Blanc offers delightful immediate charm and freshness upon release, while possessing the balance to develop smoothly over the next 3 to 6 years.
