This wine originates from France, within the Côte de Beaune region of Burgundy and the Volnay Premier Cru appellation. Founded in 1797, Maison Louis Latour is one of Burgundy's most historic family-owned negociant-growers. The En Chevret vineyard sits at the base of the slope bordering Meursault, where clay and limestone soils produce supple, perfume-driven expressions of Pinot Noir. The winery's philosophy emphasizes traditional open-vat fermentations and short aging in medium-toasted French oak barrels to preserve site-specific aromatics, elegance, and balance.
Wine Description
This wine displays a dark ruby color. On the nose, it opens with lifted, expressive aromas of blackcurrant, dark cherry, and liquorice, complemented by nuances of dried herbs, potpourri, and subtle spice. On the palate, it exhibits a full, round body with fine-tuned, grippy tannins and energetic natural acidity framing a pure core of dark berry fruit. The finish is long, structured, and refreshing with lingering mineral and spice accents. The varietal composition is 100% Pinot Noir. It has an alcohol content of 13% ABV and is not certified organic.
