Luce Lux Vitis 2022

Produced in Italy, Luce Lux Vitis 2022 originates from the Montalcino region within the Toscana IGT appellation. The wine is crafted by Tenuta Luce, an estate southwest of Montalcino founded as a collaborative project in the early 1990s by Vittorio Frescobaldi and Robert Mondavi, and now fully under the direction of Lamberto Frescobaldi. The winemaking philosophy focuses on capturing a unique individual style from the estate's pristine, biodiverse environment, utilizing a small three hectare parcel of Cabernet Sauvignon planted on mixed sandy soils to deliver an exclusive, terroir driven wine.

Wine Description

This vintage presents a deep ruby red colour. The bouquet opens with complex and stylishly refined aromas of ripe black fruits, intertwined with elegant sensations of sweet spices, licorice root, thyme, and delicate hints of crushed currants and rose bush. On the palate, the wine is medium to full bodied, displaying a striking balance between freshness and density alongside a structured yet polished framework. It showcases a seamless, velvety texture with a vertical finish that highlights notes of mocha, chocolate nibs, licorice, and graphite. Composed primarily of Cabernet Sauvignon with a small amount of Sangiovese added to enrich its character, the wine was aged for 24 months in 100% new French oak barrels. It possesses a limited annual production of only 10,000 bottles and features an optimal drinking window extending from 2026 through 2040.
