Founded in the 1990s as a visionary collaboration between Vittorio Frescobaldi and Robert Mondavi, Tenuta Luce was established to combine traditional Tuscan heritage with pioneering global winemaking techniques. The estate’s philosophy centers on meticulous vineyard management and small parcel fermentations to craft expressive, harmonious wines that reflect the high elevation marl and sandstone soils of southern Montalcino.

Wine Description

The wine presents a deep, luminous ruby red colour with dark purple reflections in the glass. An expressive and fragrant bouquet opens with lush aromas of ripe black cherry, wild blackberry, and plum, complemented by fragrant accents of violet, sweet vanilla, cocoa powder, and toasted oak spice. On the palate, it is full bodied, plush, and generous, offering rich layers of juicy dark fruit, chocolate, and dried herbs supported by a fine streak of balanced natural acidity. Framed by smooth, velvety tannins and an undercurrent of fine mineral depth, it glides into a long, satisfying finish. Composed of a seamless blend of Merlot and Sangiovese aged in French oak barrels, it effortlessly combines the lush, rounded fruit texture of Merlot with the vibrant structure and food-friendly acidity of Sangiovese.
