Product description

This structured and 'crystalline' sparkling wine originates from France, within the Crémant de Bourgogne A.O.C. appellation of Burgundy. Cave de Lugny, an iconic cooperative founded in 1927 in the heart of the Mâconnais, is renowned for its deep commitment to Burgundian viticulture and high-elevation terroir. Sourced from choice hillside vineyards across the southern Côte d'Or and Mâconnais, the vines are rooted in limestone-rich clay soils and Jurassic chalk subsoils. The region's temperate semi-continental climate featuring sunny, warm days balanced by cool evening breezes allows red and white Burgundian grape varieties to reach ideal phenolic ripeness while retaining an electric, razor-sharp natural acidity necessary for world-class sparkling winemaking.

Wine Description

The Cave de Lugny Crémant de Bourgogne Rosé presents a luminous, pale coral-pink color in the glass with shimmering salmon reflections and an exceptionally fine, persistent, and energetic stream of delicate bubbles (mousse). Its sensory profile is exceptionally fresh, high-toned, and complex, delivering a refined and expressive portrait of cool-climate Burgundian sparkling rosé. The bouquet opens with an inviting display of fresh wild pink raspberries, red currants, and tart red cherries, seamlessly layered with delicate underlays of white floral blossoms, crushed limestone minerality, citrus peel, and a touch of freshly baked brioche. On the palate, the wine is light-to-medium-bodied, sleek, and precisely focused, showcasing a vibrant core of crunchy orchard red fruits, blood orange zest, and subtle autolytic warmth. It is characterized by its outstanding inner energy and an incisive, mouthwatering backbone of natural acidity that cuts cleanly through the palate. The mouthfeel is supple, creamy, and weightless, carrying into a long, dry, and mineral-driven finish accented by lingering notes of lime zest, red berry skin, and chalk.
