Product description

Luxardo Espresso is a premium Italian coffee liqueur produced by Girolamo Luxardo S.p.A. in Torreglia, located in the Veneto region of northeastern Italy. Founded in 1821 in Zara (now Zadar, Croatia) and famous worldwide for its iconic Maraschino liqueur and Maraschino cherries, the family-owned company brings over two centuries of distillation expertise to this classic digestif. Crafted to deliver the authentic, unadulterated flavor of a freshly pulled Italian espresso shot, it stands as a gold standard for classic cocktails and post-dinner sipping.

Spirit Description

Luxardo Espresso is produced using a concentrated hot infusion of carefully selected coffee beans sourced from three continents: Brazil, Colombia, and Kenya. The dark-roasted Arabica coffee infusion is blended with neutral spirit, pure sugar, and a touch of natural vanilla to balance the natural bitterness of the coffee beans. Unlike lower-tier coffee liqueurs that rely on cold brew extracts or artificial colorings and flavorings, Luxardo uses traditional espresso extraction principles to yield a rich, dark, and intensely aromatic coffee liqueur.

  • Colour: Deep, impenetrable dark brown with rich mahogany reflections.

  • Aroma: Intensely aromatic and bold, opening with freshly ground dark-roast espresso beans, dark cocoa powder, and roasted nuts, backed by a subtle hint of warm vanilla and caramelized sugar.

  • Palate: Rich, full-flavored, and balanced on the entry. Upfront flavors of bittersweet dark espresso, roasted cocoa nibs, and dark chocolate blend seamlessly into subtle notes of toasted hazelnut, vanilla bean, and dark caramel.

  • Body: Medium-to-full-bodied with a smooth, velvety, and syrupy texture without feeling cloying.

  • Finish: Long, warm, and lingering, trailing off with a pleasing bittersweet coffee dryness, dark chocolate, and a faint roasted bean bitterness.

  • ABV: Bottled at 27% ABV (54 Proof).
