Product description

Luxardo Sangue Morlacco Cherry Liqueur originates from Italy, within the northern region of Veneto in the subregion of Torreglia. Established in 1821 by Girolamo Luxardo in Zara, the historic company was relocated to Veneto following the devastation of the Second World War. Today, the legendary family owned enterprise is managed by the sixth generation of the Luxardo family, preserving centuries old traditions in the production of fine cherry liqueurs and maraschino.

Spirit Description

This fruit liqueur exhibits a deep, dark ruby red appearance with dense garnet reflections in the glass. The sensory profile presents a rich, aromatic nose driven by ripe Marasca cherry juice, dark plum, and sweet almond, accompanied by subtle hints of baking spices. On the palate, the body is full, syrupy, and luscious, delivering a vibrant balance of intense sweet cherry fruit, light tart acidity, and underlying dark chocolate notes. The finish is remarkably long, warm, and velvety, leaving a trailing sweetness accented by persistent red fruit and delicate oak spice. This expression is matured in oak vats and is traditionally bottled at an alcohol by volume of 30%.

Food Pairing

The intense Marasca cherry concentration and balanced acidity of this liqueur make it a versatile pairing partner for rich desserts and savoury dishes alike. It pairs magnificently with dark chocolate tarts, vanilla bean ice cream, or classic cherry cheesecake where the rich fruit cuts through creaminess. For a savoury match, it serves as a wonderful glaze for roasted duck breast, pork tenderloin, or alongside a platter of blue cheeses and aged Gouda.
