Produced in France’s Jura region, Domaine des Marnes Blanches is owned and operated by Pauline and Géraud Fromont. Founded in 2006, the estate is known for its dedication to organic farming, low-intervention winemaking, and preserving the purity of Jura terroir. Their Coup de Jus project, which includes the playful ‘Monkey’ cuvée, allows them to craft wines from organically farmed grapes sourced from friends in neighbouring regions when needed, while maintaining their philosophy of authenticity and minimalism.
Wine Description
Monkey White is a vibrant, natural-style white wine crafted primarily from old-vine Auxerrois and Pinot Blanc grown on limestone soils in Alsace. The wine displays a pale gold colour with a luminous edge. On the nose, it opens with orchard fruits such as pear and apple, alongside subtle citrus zest and hints of wild herbs. The palate is lively and textured, offering juicy fruit flavours balanced by crisp acidity and a touch of salinity, leading to a fresh, slightly wild finish.
