Marques de Riscal XR Reserva is a red wine from the Rioja DOCa region in Spain. Established in 1858, Marques de Riscal is one of the oldest and most pioneering wineries in Rioja, famously commissioning Frank Gehry to design its emblematic 'City of Wine' hotel. The 'XR' label pays tribute to a historical Bordeaux tradition where cellar masters would chalk these letters on special barrels that showed exceptional characteristics during aging.

This wine displays an intense black-cherry colour with deep intensity and minimal signs of evolution. The sensory profile is highly expressive, featuring complex aromas of liquorice, cinnamon, and black pepper, complemented by notes of blueberries, blackcurrants, and balsamic undertones. On the palate, it is full-bodied and well-structured, offering a harmonious balance of ripe fruit, sweet spices, and coconut oil. The wine is characterized by polished, sculpted tannins and a refreshing acidity that leads to a long, persistent finish with gentle balsamic reminders.
