Product description
This structured and 'vibrant' rosé wine originates from France, within the lesser-known, premium IGP Agenais designation of the Southwest France wine region. Sourced from the family-operated estate of vigneron Christophe Avi in the village of Laplume, this bottling is part of the curated Mary Taylor Wine portfolio. Mary Taylor operates under a strict winemaking philosophy of European regional typicity and site transparency, celebrating small, independent family growers who eschew high-volume industrial shortcuts. Rooted in the sandy and clay-limestone soils directly south of the Garonne River benefiting from the protective proximity of the vast Landes Forest the vineyard blocks yield fruit with an exceptional balance of sunny ripeness and maritime-driven structural tension.
Wine Description
The Mary Taylor 'Christophe Avi' Agenais Rosé presents a brilliant, bright salmon-pink and coral appearance in the glass. Its sensory profile is exceptionally aromatic, energetic, and expressive, opening with a high-toned bouquet of honeyed floral blossoms, ripe wild cherries, and crushed nectarines, beautifully layered with distinct undertones of wet stone, lime leaf, and exotic baking spices. On the palate, the wine is light-to-medium-bodied, round, and surprisingly pliant, showcasing a juicy, mouth-filling core of fresh red berries, green strawberries, and pickled watermelon rinds. It is characterized by its outstanding, palate-cleansing natural acidity and a firm, persistent mineral grip. The mouthfeel is almost oily and texturally rich, driving into a crisp, bone-dry, and highly persistent finish highlighted by an intense wave of cascading inner flowers and citrus zest.
