Product description
Metaxa 7 Stars (often historically referred to as Metaxa Gold Label 7 Stars) is a iconic Greek spirit produced by the House of Metaxa in Kifissia, near Athens, Greece. Created in 1888 by founder Spyros Metaxa, Metaxa is a distinct spirit category unto itself a master blend of aged wine distillates (brandy) and aromatic Muscat wines from the Aegean islands of Samos and Lemnos, infused with a secret bouquet of Mediterranean botanicals and May rose petals. The "7 Stars" designation signifies that the core wine distillates in the blend have matured in oak casks for a minimum of seven years.
2. Spirit Description
Metaxa 7 Stars is crafted through a unique multi-step production process overseen by Metaxa Master Constantinos Raptis. Fine wine distillates made from indigenous Greek grape varieties (Savatiano, Sultanina, and Black Corinth) are aged in hand-crafted French Limousin oak barrels for at least seven years. Separately, sweet Muscat wines are aged and blended with a proprietary infusion of Mediterranean herbs, spices, and rose petals. The aged brandy, botanical-infused Muscat wine, and pure spring water are then married together and aged further in oak casks to allow the complex flavors to harmonize.
