Product description
This straight bourbon whiskey originates from the United States, produced in the Kentucky region. Crafted by Michter's Master Distiller Dan McKee and Master of Maturation Andrea Wilson at Michter's Shively Distillery in Louisville, Kentucky, the "Bomberger's Declaration" line pays homage to the original Bomberger's Distillery in Pennsylvania. Continuing the brand's tradition of wood experimentation, the 2024 Release incorporates bourbon aged in Chinquapin oak (Quercus muehlenbergii) casks that were naturally outdoor seasoned and air-dried for three years prior to coopering, paired with a carefully selected high-rye mash bill recipe.
Spirit Description
This bourbon presents a deep, warm mahogany hue in the glass. The nose is rich and complex, opening with bold aromas of dark caramel, toasted pecans, sweet vanilla, and ripe dark berries, complemented by undertones of polished oak, dark cocoa, and warming rye spice. On the palate, it is full-bodied and viscous, delivering layered flavours of dark brown sugar, molasses, milk chocolate, and stewed stone fruit, balanced by the distinctive herbal, nutty, and charred wood spice characteristics of the Chinquapin oak. The finish is long, velvety, and satisfyingly warm, leaving lingering notes of sweet oak, dried fruit, dark chocolate, and gentle cinnamon. Bottled at 108 Proof (54% ABV), it exhibits magnificent depth and texture.
