This 100% Pinot Noir has a deep purple or dark red core with black shaded edges. The aromatic profile is lifted, featuring dark cherry, redcurrant, strawberry, and dried herb notes. Other aromas mentioned across vintages include Morello cherry, liquorice, earth, spicy cedar, and a touch of vanilla.
The wine is medium-bodied to full in the mouth. The palate is full, rich, and well-balanced, with a juicy core of dark cherry and strawberry fruits. It is described as a delectable and expressive wine. The tannins are silky and well-balanced, though sometimes presenting as a touch rustic or chewy with a sturdy structure. The finish is earthy, with notes of vanilla, cedar, and spice. The wine is matured in a combination of new and 5-year-old barrels for 12 months. The ABV is 13.5%. This wine is suitable for drinking now but can be cellared for the next two to four years.
