Founded in 1981 by Anthony von Mandl, Mission Hill Family Estate was instrumental in establishing the Okanagan Valley as a world-class wine destination. Guided by an uncompromising winemaking philosophy, the estate focuses on sustainable viticulture and parcel-specific harvesting to showcase the profound depth and character of southern Okanagan terroirs.
Wine Description
The wine presents a deep garnet red colour in the glass with subtle brick highlights along the rim. An inviting, complex nose opens with aromas of dark Marasca cherry, blackberry, and cassis, complemented by fragrant accents of dried thyme, rosemary, dark chocolate, and cedar box. On the palate, it is rich, dense, and full bodied, delivering flavours of ripe black fruits, licorice, and savory herbs supported by a core of vibrant acidity and refined, velvety tannins. Composed of 42% Merlot, 24% Syrah, 19% Cabernet Franc, and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, this 1500 ml magnum release offers an optimal drinking window of 2024–2032. Stylistically, it effortlessly combines bold fruit power with classic structure, benefiting from the extended aging potential afforded by the magnum format.
