Product description

Montagave Blanco Heritage Rosé Tequila is an artisanal, small-batch spirit produced in Amatitán, within the Lowlands (Valles) region of Jalisco, Mexico. Distilled at the acclaimed Tequila Cascahuín distillery (NOM 1123) by Master Distiller Salvador "Chava" Rosales Trejo in partnership with the Montagave founders, this expression builds upon the brand's signature wine-cask maturation style. Rested in hand-selected French oak casks previously used to age fine Bordeaux red wine, this additive-free expression retains its Blanco classification while displaying a delicate naturally tinted hue and complex fruit-forward aromatics.

Spirit Description

Montagave Blanco Heritage Rosé begins with 100% Blue Weber agaves harvested in the Lowlands. The agaves are slow-cooked in traditional masonry brick ovens, crushed using a combination of a traditional stone tahona wheel and roller mill, and fermented in open-air vats. Following double distillation in copper pot stills, the unaged spirit is rested for a short duration (under 60 days) in French oak Grand Cru red wine barrels from Bordeaux. This resting period infuses the spirit with a subtle blush tone and complex layers of red fruit, floral elegance, and soft wood tannins while maintaining the underlying Lowland agave character.

  • Colour: Delicate pale blush pink with soft rose-gold reflections and thick, slow-moving legs.

  • Aroma: Elegant and aromatic, opening with sweet cooked agave, fresh strawberries, and red cherries, backed by citrus peel, soft rose petals, subtle vanilla, and wet-stone minerality.

  • Palate: Silky, supple, and refined on the entry. Upfront flavors of rich roasted agave and bright lime zest give way to fresh raspberries, red currants, subtle oak tannin, and a gentle white pepper warmth.

  • Body: Medium-to-full-bodied with a soft, rounded, and velvety mouthfeel.

  • Finish: Crisp, long, and clean, tapering off with lingering sweet agave, subtle red wine notes, gentle spice, and a dry mineral snap.

  • ABV: Bottled at 41% ABV (82 Proof).
