Mount Gay Black Barrel Double Cask Blend originates from Barbados, which is often considered the birthplace of rum. The Mount Gay distillery, established in 1703, is the world's oldest continuously running commercial rum distillery. The distillery uses pure, coral-filtered water and a blend of Barbadian and Caribbean molasses to craft their rums. Mount Gay rums are produced in traditional double copper pot and copper column stills.

• Color: The Rum's ageing process suggests a golden or amber hue.

• Aroma: The nose presents notes of toasted oak, butter, dried fruit, and spices. Other aromas noted are toasted brown sugar, molasses, vanilla, melon, and orange peel.

• Palate: It is described as bold and aromatic. Flavours include orange zest, black pepper, toasted vanilla, and toffee, as well as gingerbread and lychee. Other descriptors include vanilla, caramel, and a hint of banana. The profile is rich, complex, and smooth, with a pronounced oaky, bourbon-like taste.
