Introduction

This vibrant white wine hails from New Zealand, specifically the Marlborough region at the northern tip of the South Island. Mud House was founded by a courageous couple who, after sailing the world, fell in love with New Zealand and ended their journey to build a home out of the local earth—the very 'mud house' that gave the brand its name. Now led by winemakers Cleighten Cornelius and Krystal Palmer, the winery's philosophy is one of minimal intervention, aiming to express the unique character, freshness, and vibrancy of their sustainably managed vineyards in the Wairau and Awatere Valleys.

Wine Description

In the glass, the Mud House Sauvignon Blanc presents a clear, pale lemon to straw green colour. The nose is lifted and aromatic, bursting with snow pea, nettles, and tropical guava, complemented by intense notes of passion fruit, grapefruit, and citrus blossom. On the palate, the wine is light-bodied and beautifully balanced, offering a 'fruit salad' of flavours including melon, green apple, and ripe tropical fruits.

This 100% Sauvignon Blanc is characterized by its crisp, grapefruit-like acidity which provides a refreshing, juicy texture. A subtle hint of minerality adds purity to the mid-palate, leading into a long, mouth-watering finish. While designed for immediate, youthful enjoyment, this wine will continue to drink well for the next three to four years.
