Product description
This structured and 'crystalline' sparkling wine originates from the United States, within the prestigious Napa Valley A.V.A. of California. Mumm Napa was established in the late 1970s as a joint venture between the legendary French Champagne house G.H. Mumm and local California viticulturists, combining centuries-old French Méthode Traditionnelle winemaking heritage with Napa Valley's sun-drenched, world-class fruit. Sourced from over 50 select vineyard sites across Napa Valley; including cool-climate sub-appellations such as Los Carneros, Rutherford, and Oak Knoll District, the vines are rooted in gravelly loam, clay, and volcanic alluvial soils. The region's Mediterranean microclimate features warm daytime sun tempered by cool maritime fog rolling off San Pablo Bay, allowing classic sparkling varieties to achieve rich fruit maturity while retaining an electric, razor-sharp natural acidity.
Wine Description
The Mumm Napa Brut Prestige Cuvée presents a luminous, pale straw-gold appearance in the glass with shimmering chartreuse highlights and a fine, persistent, and energetic stream of delicate bubbles (mousse). Its sensory profile is exceptionally fresh, high-toned, and complex, delivering a refined, balanced, and highly expressive portrait of California traditional method sparkling wine. The bouquet opens with an inviting display of fresh green apple, ripe Golden Delicious, crisp Asian pear, and Meyer lemon zest, seamlessly layered with delicate underlays of freshly baked brioche, toasted almond, honeyed citrus, orange blossom, and a subtle line of crushed limestone minerality. On the palate, the wine is light-to-medium-bodied, sleek, and precisely focused, showcasing a vibrant core of crunchy orchard stone fruits, citrus oils, and autolytic warmth. It is characterized by its outstanding inner energy and an incisive, mouthwatering backbone of natural acidity that cuts cleanly through the mid-palate fruit density. The mouthfeel is creamy, fine-textured, and supple, carrying into a long, dry, and mineral-driven finish accented by lingering notes of lime peel, toasted hazelnut, and chalk.
