Introduction

This opulent red wine hails from Italy, specifically the Valpolicella Classica region in Veneto. Cantina Valpolicella Negrar has a storied history spanning over 90 years, embodying the excellence and traditions of its native terroir. The winery's philosophy is rooted in technical innovation and the preservation of heritage, famously credited with the "discovery" of Amarone when a forgotten barrel of Recioto fermented completely dry. Today, the cooperative manages approximately 700 hectares of vineyards, maintaining a deep focus on sustainability and the traditional Appassimento method to showcase the region's premier varietals.

Wine Description

The Amarone Classico presents a dense and compact ruby red colour, often evolving into garnet with age. The aromatic profile is intensely persistent and ethereal, revealing a complex bouquet of cherries in spirits, dried prunes, and blackberries dusted with cinnamon and clove. As the wine develops, layered scents of dried flowers, dark chocolate, tobacco leaf, and leather emerge. On the palate, it is powerful yet smooth, delivering a harmonious balance between its rich endowment of velvety tannins and savory notes of figs and cocoa.

The varietal composition is a traditional blend of 70% Corvina, 15% Corvinone, and 15% Rondinella.
