Product description

This straight bourbon whiskey originates from the United States, produced in the Kentucky region. Crafted at Heaven Hill Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky, Elijah Craig Barrel Proof is a small-batch, uncut, and non-chill-filtered expression released three times a year. The batch code "A124" indicates the first release ("A") of January ("1") in the year 2024. Following Heaven Hill's updated age policy for the series, Batch A124 comes in with an age statement of 10 years and 9 months, offering a slightly younger, brighter oak profile compared to historic 12-year releases while maintaining its signature cask-strength presentation.

Spirit Description

This bourbon presents a rich, polished copper to dark amber hue in the glass. On the nose, it is warm and aromatic, opening with enticing scents of toasted caramel, vanilla bean, and sweet corn, layered over charred oak, nutmeg, and a touch of ripe stone fruit. The palate is full-bodied and lively, delivering robust flavours of butterscotch, cinnamon-dusted graham cracker, milk chocolate, and roasted pecans, balanced by pepper spice and seasoned wood tannins. The finish is long, warm, and comforting, leaving lingering notes of dark brown sugar, sweet oak, and drying baking spices. Bottled at a natural cask strength of 59.5% ABV (119 Proof)—a relatively approachable proof point for the Barrel Proof series—it offers outstanding richness with remarkably soft heat integration.

Accolades

Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Batch A124 received glowing reviews from bourbon critics for its exceptional balance and lower, highly sipable proof point. Celebrated across major platforms like Breaking Bourbon, Whisky Advocate, and The Spirits Business, it was praised for delivering classic Heaven Hill caramel and baking spice complexity without overpowering alcohol burn.
