Unlike their core US1 Single Barrel Rye (bottled at 84.8 proof), this expression is drawn directly from individual barrels at full cask strength. A signature aspect of Michter's process is entering the spirit into fire-charred new American white oak barrels at an exceptionally low barrel-entry proof of 103. This allows more water-soluble oak sugars to dissolve into the distillate during maturation, resulting in a rich, viscous mouthfeel and an approachable heat profile despite its cask strength.

• Colour: Dark copper amber with rich mahogany highlights.

• Aroma: A forceful, complex nose brimming with butterscotch, sharp cinnamon, burnt orange peel, graham cracker, leather, and dark cherry.

• Palate: Full-bodied and remarkably oily; layers of blackstrap molasses, toasted rye spice, rich vanilla, and dark cocoa give way to burnt sugar and subtle baking spices.

• Body: Heavy, velvety, and mouth-coating with a remarkably low alcohol burn due to the low barrel-entry proof.

• Finish: Long, warming, and punchy, ending with lingering notes of gingerbread, dry oak tannins, peppery rye, and dark caramel.
