This straight bourbon whiskey originates from the United States, produced in the Kentucky region. Crafted at the Jim Beam Distillery in Clermont, Kentucky, under Beam Suntory (now Suntory Global Spirits), Old Grand-Dad is a historic brand named in honor of Master Distiller Basil Hayden. The 7 Year Old Bottled-in-Bond expression marks a return to a classic age statement for the brand, adhering strictly to the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897: distilled in a single distilling season at one distillery, aged for at least 7 years in a federally bonded warehouse, and bottled at exactly 100 proof (50% ABV). It is made using the famous high-rye mash bill (27% rye).

This bourbon presents a deep reddish-amber hue in the glass. The nose is bold, spicy, and inviting, opening with pronounced aromas of rye spice, black pepper, and toasted oak, followed by sweet undertones of brown sugar, vanilla bean, and dark fruit. On the palate, it is full-bodied with a rich, chewy mouthfeel, delivering robust flavours of charred oak, caramel, spicy cinnamon, and orange peel, balanced by a distinct high-rye punch of baking spices and dark cocoa. The finish is long, warm, and lingering, leaving a dry, satisfying trail of sweet oak spice, leather, and rye grain.
