Founded in 2010 by Joe Baker, Ole Smoky Distillery was the first federally licensed distillery in the history of East Tennessee. The company operates four experiential distilleries in Tennessee and remains a pioneer in the legal moonshine industry, with the founders continuing as significant shareholders following an acquisition by Apax Partners in 2022.
