Ometeo Mexican Gin

This craft gin originates from Mexico, produced in the region of Jalisco. Crafted at Destilería Y Bodega Abasolo, the spirit is designed as a tribute to Mexican botanical and herbal traditions. Named in homage to the dual deity Ometeotl, the gin combines native plants with traditional distillation methods to highlight the rich natural biodiversity of the country.

Spirit Description

This clear spirit presents a bright and crystalline appearance in the glass. The nose opens with vibrant aromas of native Jalisco lime peel and fresh citrus zest, layered over herbal notes of wild lavender, mint, coriander seeds, and piney juniper. On the palate, it delivers a medium body with a surprisingly light, creamy, and smooth mouthfeel. Persistent flavours of tart lime, herbal green pepper, and delicate floral accents are well balanced by warmer underlying notes of cassia bark, black pepper, Tabasco pepper, and angelica root. The finish is clean, crisp, and spicy, leaving a lingering impression of citrus oils and exotic warmth. Bottled at an ABV of 42%, it offers a balanced yet distinctively complex Mexican expression.
