Product description
This structured and 'aristocratic' white wine originates from the United States, within the expansive California A.O.C. appellation. Produced by Orin Swift Cellars the legendary Napa Valley estate founded by winemaker Dave Phinney, celebrated worldwide for crafting bold, highly expressive, and artfully packaged wines "Mannequin" represents the winery's flagship white assemblage. Sourced from choice, low-yielding vineyard plots across California's premier cool-climate Chardonnay regions (including Carneros, Sonoma Coast, and Mendocino), the vines thrive in complex soils ranging from gravelly loam to clay and eroded limestone. The maritime microclimates feature persistent ocean fog and cooling Pacific breezes, allowing the grapes to build immense aromatic power and rich textural volume while retaining a vibrant, balancing natural acidity.
Wine Description
Orin Swift Mannequin Chardonnay presents a rich, luminous golden-yellow color in the glass with bright brass and pale emerald reflections along the rim. Its sensory profile is exceptionally bold, high-toned, and complex, delivering an expansive, precise, and decadent portrait of modern California Chardonnay. The bouquet opens with a soaring display of ripe Meyer lemon, yellow apple, honeydew melon, and white peach, seamlessly layered with complex underlays of roasted pineapple, jasmine flowers, sweet Madagascar vanilla, toasted brioche, lemon curd, and a subtle line of crushed stone minerality. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, opulent, and athletic, showcasing a succulent core of tropical fruits, grilled stone fruit, and orange zest. It is characterized by its outstanding inner energy and an incisive, mouthwatering backbone of natural acidity that effortlessly elevates its broad mid-palate weight. The mouthfeel is mouth-coating, supple, and weightless, framed by a rich, velvety texture gained from extensive lees contact that carries into an extraordinarily long, dry, and savory finish accented by persistent notes of toasted oak, hazelnut, and citrus peel.
