Product description

Originating from Canada in the famous Okanagan Valley region of British Columbia, specifically within the warm South Okanagan subregion overlooking Osoyoos Lake, Osoyoos Larose Petales D'Osoyoos 2022 represents a refined, early-approachable expression of Canadian Bordeaux-style blending. Established in 1998 as an ambitious joint venture between Vincor Canada and Groupe Taillan of Bordeaux (owners of Chateau Gruaud Larose), the estate is today fully owned by Groupe Taillan. Crafted as the estate's second wine from younger vines across the 32-hectare property, the winemaking philosophy combines traditional French winemaking techniques with South Okanagan terroir. Utilizing hand sorting, parcel-by-parcel fermentations in cone-shaped stainless steel tanks, and aging for 12 to 16 months in two and three-year-old French oak barrels, the estate crafts a round, supple, and food-friendly red blend designed for immediate enjoyment and short-term cellaring.

Wine Description

The wine presents a clear, deep garnet red colour with vibrant ruby highlights along the rim. An expressive, complex bouquet opens with primary aromas of ripe blackberry, dark plum, and red currant, interwoven with fragrant notes of wild violet, sweet cedar wood, vanilla bean, baking spices, and a subtle touch of sagebrush minerality. On the palate, it is medium to full bodied, juicy, and well rounded, delivering rich layers of black fruits, dark cherry, and cocoa balanced by a spine of vibrant natural acidity. Framed by smooth, fine-grained tannins and a savory, earthy undercurrent, it concludes with a long, energetic, and spicy finish. Composed of a classic Merlot-dominated Bordeaux blend alongside Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec, this release offers an optimal drinking window of 2026–2032. Stylistically, it effortlessly combines French structural elegance with South Okanagan fruit generosity and soft, supple textures.
