Product description
Padre Azul Super Premium Reposado Tequila is an aged artisanal spirit produced in Jalisco, Mexico, within the Tequila Valley (Lowlands) region. The brand was established in 2014 by Austrian entrepreneur Hans Peter Eder and his partners, inspired by his marriage into a Mexican family and a desire to merge premium Austrian design with traditional Mexican craftsmanship. Produced under Master Distiller Erika Sangeado at NOM 1466, the name "Padre" stems from the popular Mexican slang expression "que padre" (meaning how fantastic). Visually striking, the bottle features a hand-stitched leather jacket and a heavy, solid-metal skull stopper.
Spirit Description
Crafted from 100% blue Weber agave harvested after growing for up to a decade in the Lowlands, the agave hearts are steam-cooked in traditional masonry brick ovens, fermented in stainless steel tanks, and double-distilled in stainless steel pot stills. The distillate is then matured for at least eight months in hand-selected, medium-char ex-bourbon oak barrels.
Colour: Pale straw yellow or light gold, with a thick, viscous coat that clings to the glass.
Aroma: Highly sweet and confectionary. The bouquet opens with strong notes of vanilla cupcake, warm caramel, and butterscotch, with a faint background of cooked fruit compote and a muted hint of raw agave.
Palate: Velvet-smooth and intensely sweet on the tongue. It delivers heavy, upfront flavors of vanilla bean, maple syrup, and liquid caramel, which evolve into mid-palate layers of baked apricots and mild milk chocolate.
Body: Medium-to-heavy-bodied with a soft, syrupy, and mouth-coating texture that minimizes any alcohol burn.
Finish: Long, sweet, and smooth, closing with a delicate touch of black pepper, baking spices, and lingering vanilla.
ABV: Bottled at 40% (80 Proof).
