The esteemed Château Pajzos estate is located in the historic Tokaj region of northeastern Hungary, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its winemaking tradition. Acquired in the early 1990s by Jean-Louis Laborde, also co-owner of Château Clinet in Pomerol, Pajzos is known for its meticulous vineyard management and commitment to preserving the region's indigenous grape varieties, particularly Furmint.
This Furmint is a striking white wine showcasing the grape’s expressive character. Pale straw in colour, it opens with a bouquet of green apple, pear, and lime blossom, complemented by mineral undertones typical of Tokaj’s volcanic soils. The palate is crisp and vibrant, revealing flavours of citrus, quince, and flinty salinity, supported by a medium body and bright acidity. The finish is long and clean, leaving a lingering impression of orchard fruit and wet stone.
