Product description
Paraduxx Proprietary Red Wine originates from the United States, within the renowned California region and the premier Napa Valley subregion. Founded in 1994 by Dan and Margaret Duckhorn, Paraduxx stands as the only Napa Valley winery exclusively devoted to crafting stylish, innovative Napa Valley blends. The estate's operational philosophy centers on combining the structural grandeur and elegance of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon with the robust, vibrant fruit character of California's native Zinfandel. Under the modern winemaking guidance of Cardiff Scott-Robinson, each vineyard block from four acclaimed estate properties and select elite growers is harvested and aged separately to preserve its unique, fingerprint-like terroir identity before final blending.
Wine Description
This red wine presents a dark ruby, deep, and luxurious appearance in the glass and possesses a medium-to-full-bodied structure with a silky, velvety, and mouth-filling texture. The sensory profile is highly expressive, bold, and complex, opening with an alluring nose of blackberry, cassis, and black raspberry pie, intricately woven with hints of violet, sandalwood, cocoa powder, licorice, and warm baking spices like cinnamon and clove. On the voluptuous and potent palate, it delivers deep, concentrated layers of blackberry jam, spiced blueberry, and dark cherry, seamlessly balanced by a lively natural acidity and robust, well-behaved tannins. The finish is remarkably long, generous, and persistent, leaving a lingering trail of savory spice, sweet tobacco leaf, anise, and a touch of dried earth.
Varietal Composition: While the exact blend varies by vintage to satisfy the modern palate, it is crafted around a dominant Cabernet Sauvignon core. For example, the 2021 vintage is composed of 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Zinfandel, 13% Malbec, 10% Merlot, 6% Syrah, and 5% Petite Sirah.
Stylistic Notes: The wine is celebrated for its distinctly Californian personality, taking full advantage of the region's ability to ripen multiple varieties to perfection. To integrate its bold fruit and develop supple, polished tannins, the wine is typically matured for 18 months in a combination of French and Hungarian oak barrels, utilizing roughly 40% new and 60% neutral wood.
ABV: 14.5%.
