Introduction
Patron Reposado Tequila is a super premium spirit from Mexico, specifically handcrafted in the rolling hills of the Los Altos highlands in Jalisco. The brand was founded in 1989 by entrepreneurs John Paul DeJoria and Martin Crowley with the goal of creating the world's first ultra premium tequila. Originally produced at the Casa 7 Leguas distillery, production moved in 2002 to the Hacienda Patron, and in 2018, the Patron Spirits Company was acquired by Bacardi Limited for 5.1 billion dollars.
Spirit Description
This reposado is crafted from 100% Blue Weber agave that is slow roasted in traditional small brick ovens for 79 hours before being crushed using both roller mill and ancient tahona stone methods. It is aged for at least two to four months in a variety of barrel types, including new French, American, and Hungarian oak, as well as used American whisky barrels.
Colour: The spirit presents a marvellous shade of light amber or a bright golden hue.
Aroma: The nose is complex and inviting, featuring oak wood and fresh agave mingled with citrus, honey, and vanilla.
Palate: It offers a smooth, balanced taste of fresh agave and oak, complemented by notes of caramel, fruit, and light spice.
Body: This tequila is characterized by an exceptionally high quality and velvety mouthfeel with opulent depth.
Finish: It concludes with a warm glow and a long finish that reveals light floral notes, vanilla, and a hint of pepper.
ABV: Patron Reposado is bottled at 40%.
