Product description

Pine Ridge Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley originates from the United States, within the California region and the renowned Napa Valley AVA. Founded in 1978 by Gary Andrus, the historic estate is situated in the heart of the Stags Leap District along the Silverado Trail. The winery's philosophy bridges meticulous, sustainable viticulture with precision winemaking. To craft this flagship cuvée, the winemaking team expertly selects and blends fruit from across 160 acres of premier estate vineyards spanning five distinct Napa sub-appellations: Stags Leap District, Howell Mountain, Oakville, Rutherford, and Carneros.

Wine Description

This red wine presents a deep, intense ruby appearance in the glass and possesses a bold, full-bodied structure with an opulent texture. The sensory profile is elegant, expressive, and complex, opening with an inviting nose of ripe blackcherries, blueberries, and blackberry bramble, seamlessly interwoven with dark chocolate, spearmint, and Hungarian baking spices. On the plush and juicy palate, it delivers a generous stream of cranberry sauce, raspberry jam, and cassis, layered with cocoa nibs, vanilla cream, and espresso. The finish is remarkably long, succulent, and polished, balanced by a vibrant acidic backbone and framed by firm, silky tannins.

  • Varietal Composition: Primarily Cabernet Sauvignon, typically rounded out with small, traditional proportions of Petit Verdot, Merlot, Malbec, Tannat, or Cabernet Franc depending on the vintage.

  • Stylistic Notes: The wine is celebrated for its exceptional balance of power and restraint. The hand-picked grapes are night-harvested and cold-soaked before undergoing high-temperature fermentation for maximum color and flavor extraction. It is then aged for 18 months in a carefully calibrated barrel program consisting of 35% new French oak, 15% new American oak, and 50% neutral French oak to preserve natural fruit freshness.

  • ABV: Typically ranges between 14.5% and 15.5%.

  • Organic Status: While not certified organic, the estate's vineyards are entirely sustainably managed to protect the health and ecological biodiversity of the Napa Valley terrain.

Food Pairing

The robust tannin profile, lush mid-palate, and bright acidity of this Napa Cabernet Sauvignon make it a natural partner for rich, savory gastronomy.

  • Meats: Pairs beautifully with grilled ribeye or T-bone steaks topped with chimichurri, braised pork loin with a cherry chipotle glaze, or slow-roasted lamb chops.

  • Savoury & Rich: Suggested pairings include fire-roasted seasonal vegetables, wild mushroom risotto, or pasta tossed in a rich, meaty ragù.

  • Cheese: Matches spectacularly with mature, hard cheeses that can stand up to the wine's structure, such as Parmigiano-Reggiano or an artisanal bandage-wrapped clothbound Cheddar.
