The brand rebranded to Planteray in 2024 to respect the ongoing global conversation regarding the historical connotations of the previous name, while maintaining its 25 year legacy. Produced by Maison Ferrand, this rum is a masterful blend of traditional styles from Barbados and Jamaica.
Description
The rum is defined by a signature double maturation process: it is first aged in its tropical country of origin and then further matured in ex-Ferrand cognac barrels in the continental climate of southwest France.
Colour: Clear amber or deep mahogany.
Aroma: A vibrant nose featuring tropical fruits like plum, banana, and pineapple, layered with spice, molasses, and a hint of vanilla.
Palate: A concentrated and smooth structure highlighting notes of caramel, chocolate, and earthy Jamaican 'funk', with additional spices like cinnamon and clove.
Body: Medium to full bodied with a creamy, profound structure that provides significant texture.
Finish: A warming and medium-long finish with persistent accents of chocolate cherries and baking spices.
ABV: Typically bottled at 40%.
