Powell & Son Brennecke Grenache 2016

Product description

Aromas of ripe red cherry and redcurrants are intertwined with aromas of rhubarb, kirsch, Turkish delight and subtle notes of cedar and white pepper. The palate reveals a sensual, sleek tannin profile which supports a red-fruited core of cherry and cranberry. The palate is multi-layered with complex flavours: red fruits, cedar, spices, hints of vanilla and cinnamon. A truly sensual wine; plush and generous through to the finish.

98 Points - Jeb Dunnuck

This beautiful elixir reveals a deep ruby color as well as a gorgeous perfume of black raspberries, toasted spice, licorice, incense, and pepper. This carries to a full-bodied, seamless Grenache that has ultra-fine tannins, a seamless, sexy texture, no hard edges, and an awesome finish.

96 Points - Wine Spectator

Velvety, aromatic and detailed, with sandalwood, bacon, and mahogany notes that leap out of the glass, giving way to equally precise blueberry, wild blackberry and plum compote elements. Features tremendous density and presence on the long, expressive finish.

95 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

The 150 cases of the 2016 Brennecke Grenache will no doubt sell out quickly. Aged in 100% new Tronçais barriques, the nose hints at woodsmoke, crushed stone and pencil shavings, while the full-bodied palate reveals crystalline-pure, bright cranberry and pie-cherry flavors. It's surprisingly crisp, with herb and savory notes on the long, zesty finish.
