Produced in the Barbaresco DOCG of the Piedmont region in Italy, Produttori del Barbaresco was established in 1958 by a village priest and local growers to preserve the identity of the Nebbiolo grape and support the farming community. The cooperative consists of fifty four families who exclusively cultivate Nebbiolo across 100 hectares of premium vineyards, emphasizing a philosophy of uncompromising quality and site-specific terroir expression.

Wine Description

The 'Muncagota' Riserva is a 100% Nebbiolo wine that showcases a ruby red colour with garnet reflections. Its complex and aromatic nose features a refined floral bouquet of rose and menthol, layered with notes of forest floor, leather, blood orange, and spice. On the palate, the wine is full bodied and vertical, offering intense mineral and spicy layers of raspberry, pomegranate, licorice, and mint. Characterized by its energy and firm, fine-grained tannins, it leads to a long and elegant finish. The wine undergoes fermentation at $30°C with 28 days of skin contact before being aged for 30 months in large oak barrels and an additional 9 months in the bottle. While possessing an optimal drinking window between 2029 and 2044, its exceptional structure allows for a longevity of up to 25 years from the vintage.
