Product description

This structured and 'historic' red wine originates from Italy, within the Barolo D.O.C.G. appellation of the Piedmont region. Sourced from the prestigious Cerretta vineyard in the Serralunga area, this wine was first produced by the Prunotto estate in the 2017 vintage. The estate, founded in 1904 and currently owned by the Antinori family, follows a winemaking philosophy that interprets the territorial identity of the Langhe through a balance of tradition and modern precision. The Cerretta vineyard is celebrated for its distinctive soils that shape Nebbiolo into a wine of firm structure, architecture, and remarkable aging potential.

Wine Description

The 2020 Prunotto Cerretta Barolo presents a bright and lively ruby red colour with garnet reflections. Its sensory profile is elegant and refined, featuring a 'pleasant' bouquet characterized by floral notes of rose and violet, layered with intense notes of small red fruit and spicy hints of pink pepper and cloves. On the palate, the wine is intense and well balanced, showcasing sweet and silky tannins alongside a remarkable freshness. This 100% Nebbiolo blend is characterized by a long, harmonious, and persistent finish that echoes the fruity notes perceived on the nose. The wine reached an alcohol content (ABV) of 14.5% and was aged in oak barrels of varying capacities for at least 18 months to enhance its balance and complexity. While the estate emphasizes meticulous vineyard management, this bottling is not explicitly certified organic.
