This wine originates from the United States, within California's Sonoma County and the Russian River Valley appellation. Ramey Wine Cellars was founded in 1996 by David Ramey, a pioneering California winemaker renowned for introducing classical Old World Burgundian techniques to West Coast winemaking. The winery's philosophy centers on traditional methods, including native yeast fermentation, barrel fermentation, full malolactic fermentation, and extended lees contact to craft site-expressive wines with texture, balance, and longevity.
Wine Description
This bright straw gold wine opens with inviting aromas of yellow apple, Meyer lemon, and white peach, intertwined with notes of toasted brioche, subtle hazelnut, and flinty minerality. On the palate, it exhibits a full body with a rich, creamy mouthfeel balanced by vibrant, mouthwatering acidity. Flavors of citrus zest, subtle baking spices, and crushed stone carry through to a long, polished, and persistent finish. The varietal composition is 100% Chardonnay. It has an alcohol content of 14.5% ABV and is not certified organic.

The 2023 growing season in the Russian River Valley was cool and long, pushing harvest dates later into the autumn months.
