Produced by the Wagner family, the creators of the iconic Caymus Vineyards, Transit 3 is part of the 'Red Wine of the World' series. The Wagners have a storied farming history in Napa Valley dating back to the 1850s, and their winemaking philosophy for the Red Schooner label involves a global approach where grapes are sourced internationally and produced in the signature, supple Caymus style.

Wine Description

Transit 3 presents a dark, swirling purple colour and offers a rich, 'New World' sensory profile. The nose is vibrant and complex, featuring scents of a 'berry basket', chocolate-covered strawberries, and fresh mint, alongside layered notes of smoky meat and wet soil. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and 'lush', showcasing intense flavours of ripe strawberry, raspberry, and plum with a unique hint of Australian mint. It is characterized by exceptionally soft, dusty tannins and a silky texture that provides a smooth mouthfeel. The finish is persistent, trailing off with traces of brown spice and refreshing fruit. This blend consists primarily of Grenache, Shiraz, and Mataro (GSM), often with a small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon, and reaches a high alcohol content (ABV) of 15.4%. While the Wagner family utilizes traditional farming methods and hand-selection, this bottling is not certified organic.
