Produced by the Wagner family of Caymus Vineyards, Red Schooner Voyage 12 follows a unique production method where the fruit is harvested, chilled, and transported by sea to their Napa Valley winery in California for vinification. The winery's philosophy for this 'Red Wine of the World' is to apply signature Caymus winemaking techniques; typically reserved for Napa Cabernet, to international varietals, creating a style that is dense, dark, and supple.

Wine Description

Voyage 12 presents a deep, dark appearance and is produced from 100% Malbec grapes. The sensory profile features an intense nose of ripe currants, cherries, and plums, layered with earthy notes, spice, and a hint of mocha. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and 'strikingly smooth', showcasing flavours of dark fruit, blueberries, and milk chocolate. It is characterized by fine, textural tannins and a rich, seamless mouthfeel that leads to a long, polished finish. This wine reached an alcohol content (ABV) of 14.2%. While the Wagner family emphasizes hand-selection and meticulous craftsmanship, this bottling is not certified organic.
