Introduction
This white wine is from Canada, produced in the Niagara Peninsula region of Ontario. Redstone Winery was established in 2009 by Moray Tawse and is named for the specific red clay soil and large stones found throughout the 38-acre estate. The winery's philosophy focuses on capturing the precision of its terroir, particularly from the Limestone Vineyard in the Twenty Mile Bench subregion.
Wine Description
The Redstone Chardonnay displays a bright straw or light golden colour. The nose is delicate and pretty, featuring aromas of red apple, pear, and white blossoms (such as jasmine) with sweet hints of vanilla, caramel, and honey. On the palate, it is medium bodied and dry, offering a lush texture with flavours of orchard fruits, lemon curd, and baking spice. It is characterized by its vibrant acidity, well-integrated French oak, and a long, crisp mineral finish. This 100% Chardonnay typically has an ABV of 12% to 13% and is often aged for 12 months in a mix of new and seasoned French oak.
