The Ricasoli CeniPrimo Chianti Classico originates from the Gaiole subregion of the Chianti Classico zone in Tuscany, Italy. The Ricasoli family has been producing wine since 1141, making it the oldest winery in Italy and the fourth oldest family business in the world. This specific Gran Selezione is a "cru" bottling from a 6.35-hectare vineyard situated on an ancient fluvial terrace of the Ombrone River, where the winemaking philosophy focuses on expressing the unique silty and clay-rich terroir.

Wine Description

This 100% Sangiovese presents an intense ruby red colour with light garnet reflections. The ethereal nose offers a complex bouquet of ripe cherry, strawberry, and blackberry, interwoven with light balsamic notes, sweet almond, and medicinal herbs. On the palate, the wine is voluminous and well-structured, featuring dusty, granular tannins typical of the Brolio river terraces. It displays a sleek, racy body with a beam of acidity that drives flavours of orange peel, cedar, and earthy forest roots into a long, lively finish.
