Ricasoli Roncicone Chianti Classico Gran Selezione 2021

This wine is from Italy, specifically the Chianti Classico DOCG in Tuscany. The Ricasoli family has been making wine for nearly 1000 years and is considered one of Italy's oldest wineries.

Wine Description
Roncicone' Chianti Classico Gran Selezione 2021 is made from Sangiovese grapes, with a small portion of other local varieties. The wine has a deep ruby colour with garnet reflections. On the nose, it offers ripe red fruit aromas like cherry and raspberry, combined with delicate notes of leather, tobacco, and earthy spice. The palate is full-bodied with a rich texture, firm tannins, and a bright acidity characteristic of Chianti. Flavours of dark berries, black plums, and a touch of leather lead to a long finish with notes of vanilla, dried herbs, and a touch of oak. Some reviews note a mineral quality, with a sense of "crushed seashell and chalk" due to the unique soil of the vineyard, which contains marine fossils.
