Product description
This vibrant white wine originates from the United States, crafted in the Paso Robles appellation situated within the Central Coast region of California. Established in 1962, Ridge Vineyards has long been celebrated for its commitment to single vineyard winemaking and pre-industrial practices. The estate operates under a philosophy of minimal intervention and total ingredient transparency, prioritizing native yeast fermentations and mindful craftsmanship to showcase the purest expression of unique vineyard sites.
Wine Description
Colour: Pale yellow with crystal clear clarity and a hint of gold highlights.
Aroma: A highly aromatic nose featuring complex scents of pear peel, green orchard fruit, apricot, and citrus blossoms, subtly intertwined with accents of fresh herbs, jasmine, chamomile, and a distinct flinty, smoky reduction.
Palate: Rich, viscous, and beautifully textured on the palate, where flavors of golden mango, white peach, raw almond, and orange oil are cut by a palpable wave of saline minerality and serious verve.
Body: Full bodied with a mid-weighted, well padded breadth that never feels soft or flabby.
Finish: A lengthy, focused finish carrying a sharp mineral grip and lingering citrus notes.
Varietal Composition: A thoughtful blend composed of 85% Grenache Blanc, 12% Picpoul, and 3% Roussanne. Grapes are meticulously sourced from three notable west side sites: the Adelaida, Fossil Creek, and Halter Ranch vineyards.
Stylistic Notes: Impressively balanced, bright, and precise, the wine masterfully balances its sunlit California generosity with a taut freshness driven by the limestone soils of the region. It is carefully aged for eight months using a combination of stainless steel, neutral oak, concrete, and amphora.
Alcohol by Volume: 13.4%
Organic Status: Produced using organic and sustainable vineyard management practices, featuring 100% natural primary and malolactic fermentations.
Food Pairing
Rich seafood preparations, such as seared scallops, grilled shrimp, or a creamy seafood pasta.
Herb roasted chicken or smoky grilled poultry.
Mediterranean-inspired cuisine served alongside soft, artisanal cheeses.
Vintage Quality
The 2024 vintage in Paso Robles was characterized by a highly successful growing season that allowed grapes to achieve superb phenolic ripeness while retaining exceptional acidity. September harvest conditions were optimal, yielding fruit with a strong core of flavor and an abundance of the snappy, tangy energy perennially sought by the winemakers.
