Ridge Vineyards, established in 1959 by Stanford engineers, has been a pioneer in California winemaking. Under the guidance of Paul Draper, who joined in 1969, Ridge emphasized natural winemaking techniques, including the use of native yeasts and minimal intervention. The Monte Bello vineyard, perched above Silicon Valley, is renowned for producing wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region.
Wine Description
The 2020 Monte Bello is a blend of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot, and 1% Cabernet Franc. It presents an opaque ruby hue with aromas of ripe cassis, plum, red currant, toasty oak, vanilla, fennel, juniper berry, and bay laurel.
