Product description
Ridge Vineyards 'Monte Bello' Cabernet Sauvignon is a legendary prestige red originating from the rugged Santa Cruz Mountains appellation in California, United States. Established in the late 19th century and revitalized in 1959, the historic winery achieved global icon status under the guidance of legendary winemaker Paul Draper. Ridge's winemaking philosophy focuses on 'preindustrial' minimal intervention, organic farming, and meticulous vineyard-site expression to craft single-vineyard wines of exceptional character and balance.
Wine Description
This Cabernet Sauvignon dominant blend, presented in an elegant 1.5-litre magnum bottle, displays a deep, inky ruby-purple color. The nose is incredibly expressive and high-toned, bursting with vibrant aromas of red and black currants, mulberry, and rose petals, seamlessly layered with notes of fresh sage, graphite, sweet American oak, and pipe tobacco. On the palate, the wine is medium to full bodied, demonstrating 'weightless intensity' where concentrated, opulent dark fruit flavors are supported by a lively, refreshing acidity and a powerful, tight structure of building, chalky tannins. The blend is composed of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot, and 1% Cabernet Franc. Thanks to the larger 1.5-litre format, which slows down the aging process and promotes more graceful development, this landmark vintage boasts an exceptionally long optimal drinking window stretching from 2029 through 2060.
