Sandeman 30 Year Old Tawny Port originates from Portugal, within the Douro region and the Porto subregion. Founded in 1790 by George Sandeman, the historic port house is famous for its iconic 'Don' figure logo and operates today under the Sogrape portfolio under the stewardship of head winemaker Luís Sottomayor. The winery is celebrated for its mastery of barrel aging, selecting exceptional port wines to mature in traditional 600-litre oak casks at its centuries-old lodges in Vila Nova de Gaia to achieve ideal harmony between fruit and intense oak complexity.

Wine Description

This fortified wine displays an intense, deep tawny-amber colour with warm mahogany and golden highlights. The nose opens with an expansive bouquet of dried figs, dates, toasted walnuts, candied orange peel, and dark chocolate, accompanied by subtle nuances of cedar wood, roasted coffee, dried spices, and honey. On the palate, it exhibits a full body with a rich, silky texture balanced by a vibrant thread of acidity that lifts the sweetness. Stylistically, the wine combines power and exceptional concentration, seamlessly blending the freshness of long-matured component ports with a complex, nutty, and oxidative character through a long, luxurious finish.
